Welcome to the online home of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Sigma Omega Chapter.
It is an honor to serve as President of a chapter that has served the greater Cincinnati area for more than 90 years. We look forward to continuing this legacy.
Founded in 1908 at Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha is an international organization that has grown to more than 283,000 members worldwide.
Our 2014-2018 International Program focus is Launching New Dimensions of Service℠, giving us an opportunity to address community needs with programs in five target areas:
- Educational Enrichment
- Health Promotion
- Family Strengthening
- Environmental Ownership
- Global Impact
We expand our community presence as a result of these initiatives, which include International Community Impact Days throughout the year, coordinated by Alpha Kappa Alpha chapters worldwide.
Our Signature Program, ASCEND℠ Scholars, spotlights high school aged men and women providing them with training and skills to help them succeed as they matriculate through school and into college.

Locally, we partner with various organizations throughout the city to enhance the lives of Greater Cincinnatians. In 2016 we continued our relationship with Cincinnati Public Schools and Taft High School, Center for Closing the Health Gap, The American Heart Association and Cincinnati Association of Black University and College Alumni (CABUCA) and Midwest Region Black Family Reunion. We also furthered our reach by collaborating with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Cincinnati STEMulates.
We encourage you to visit our website and stay up-to-date on Sigma Omega Chapter activities. If you are a visiting sorority member looking for a chapter home, feel free to contact me directly by email at email@example.com.
