Target II: Health Promotion

Target II: Health Promotion

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority promotes health awareness in three areas: Alzheimer’s Disease, Stroke and Mental Illness.

We focus on Stroke and Heart Disease Awareness by partnering with the American Heart Association to help educate the community about the number one killer of African American women in the United States, heart disease.  Our heart disease and stroke prevention awareness campaign, Pink Goes Red for Heart Health, emphasizes on hypertension management, diet and exercise.

This year Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Sigma Omega Chapter invites you to Step in the Name of Love, February 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at New Jerusalem Community Annex, 100 West North Bend Road, Cincinnati, OH 45216.

Dancing will be fun for beginners and advanced with music provided by DJ HD.

Come see who’s the best in a friendly line dance competition. Children welcome to join in at the Nintendo Wii corner. A good time for all, dancers and non-dancers alike.

This event is free and open to the public.
